On the afternoon of November 28, 2021, the Daohua Family Law and Matrimonial Law Firm, led by Director Lawyer Tang Yunhong, held a series of thematic lectures on the topic of "Family Wealth and Succession" in conjunction with relevant content from the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China.

At the beginning of the lecture, Lawyer Tang Yunhong first elaborated on the meaning of "Family Wealth and Succession" and the significance of achieving family wealth succession in the new environment after the implementation of the Civil Code. Lawyer Tang pointed out that the promulgation of the Civil Code has provided new definitions for marriage and inheritance, including the new provisions on the relationship between husband and wife's property and the provisions on the system of遗产管理人, which all reflect hot issues in today's society and are worthy of attention and application. This will directly affect the interests of some groups, and how to achieve reasonable planning of family wealth under the legal environment is a problem worthy of discussion and learning, which will also be briefly shared in this lecture.

The Daohua Family Law and Matrimonial Law Firm, combining cases encountered in judicial practice, their own experience in handling cases, and profound legal theoretical knowledge, explained in-depth and clearly, from the surface to the essence. This includes: How will the addition of "investment income" in Article 1062 of the Civil Code, which concerns joint property of husband and wife, affect the property division in divorce proceedings? How should potential risks be avoided? The lecture content provided a preliminary understanding of legal issues existing in marriage, as well as potential risks that may be faced. At the same time, Lawyer Tang briefly pointed out that it is possible to reasonably avoid such risks by entering into a pre-marital agreement during marriage and by signing an intra-marital property agreement after marriage.

In addition, regarding the inheritance of family wealth, the Daohua Family Law and Matrimonial Law Firm also provided new interpretations and suggestions based on the provisions of Article 1145 of the Civil Code regarding the appointment of an executor of inheritance. Executors to a certain extent avoid various problems that may arise in the inheritance of heritage, but also add certain thresholds to the inheritance of heirs. How to reasonably plan family wealth through trusts, insurance, and other means, and to ensure that family members inherit in a targeted manner, is also the core issue discussed in this lecture.

The thematic lecture lasted nearly two hours. Finally, the Daohua Family Law and Matrimonial Law Firm clarified the importance of foresight and early planning in the succession of family wealth through a series of vivid cases, allowing participants to have a deeper understanding of the provisions of the Civil Code on family wealth.
